September Gallery + Extended Viewing Hours

The gallery opening @ A Dove's Tale on Friday September 5th was a great success and a ton of fun! But many of you were unable to make it due to the torrential downpour from the unfortunate storm. While the gallery has regular hours (Thursday and Friday 12pm - 4pm, and Saturday 10am - 4pm) I've set up an extended viewing party I'll be at for anyone who would like to see the exhibit in person on Saturday September 20th from 2pm - 5pm.

When I arrived on the beach on June 28th, 2013 @ midnight there was no fire and no one to be seen. As the storm rolled in and the wind violently picked up, I turned to see the sand blowing off this oxygen starved fire from earlier in the night and it relit! So naturally I went and sat in the embers path, capturing what began as a freak accident and turned out a crowd favorite!

Come by to see my local photography in beautiful mats and frames, ask any questions you may have about my process, and look at the amazing custom wood furniture and art A Dove's Tale is known for! Hope to see you there!

Gallery Showing Grand Opening! September 5th 2014, First Friday Art Walk in Michigan City's Uptown Arts District

A pale, muted panorama displaying a virtual mountain range of the frozen ice shelf. Shot from Lake Shore Drive and comprised of half a dozen photographs, Chicago's glow can be seen on on the left, while some stars peek through a break in the clouds on the right. February 12th, 2014.

My very first gallery showcasing a collection of photographs from the shores of Michigan City. From long exposure nightscapes taken on the ice shelf at 3am in January under a shroud of darkness, to vibrant panoramas with a view of the Chicago skyline during vivid sunsets, all images featured in this opening were shot right here from the beaches of Michigan City. This show will feature the very best of my meticulously taken photographs presenting a vast diversity of unseen views available from our shores. Many of the images show the local scenery in ways most have never experienced, with times of day and dates signed onto each print allowing you to see how the beautiful local landscape changes wildly from day to day. In the spirit of providing a window into the often unseen, no images featuring the lighthouse will be on display.

Chicago's glow under the stars and over a calm Lake Michigan, captured from Michigan City's own Stop 31 @ Shoreland Hills. May 5th, 2013.

The gallery is being hosted by A Dove's Tale, located @ 829 Franklin St in Michigan City's Uptown Arts District, and features stunning handcrafted furniture and home furnishings, offering unique furniture designs as well as the ability to custom order to your specifications.

First Friday's in Michigan City's Uptown Arts district features numerous galleries, retail and resale shops, consignment shops with local art, fantastic restaurants, beautiful architecture, music, and absolutely something for everybody. First Friday's official hours are from 5-8pm but some festivities start early and run late, and is the perfect way to spend a late summer's Friday night.

I hope to see you there!
